CORE Therapy & Pilates in Austin, Tx is a comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program that prepares one to sit for the accredited PMA exam to obtain the credentials of PMA(R)-CPT. This program is lead by Manual Physical Therapist, Stephen Dunn, MPT, COMT and master Pilates Instructor, Cheryl Dunn, PMA(R)-CPT. Stephen leads the anatomy and teaches from Thomas Meyers revolutionary book, Anatomy Trains. Stephen also provides the current research on PT and lumbar stabilization, building a strong foundation to initiate the journey through the Pilates repertoire safely and efficiently. Cheryl then leads the students through the basic, intermediate and advanced work on the Reformer, Trap Table, Chair, Barrels, and Mat with incredible detail. We offer a unique training from both the rehab and fitness side of Pilates.

Stephen and Cheryl completed a comprehensive Pilates Certification in 2002 in Santa Monica, Ca with Barbara Wintroub at retroFit Pilates (PMA recognized).
Cheryl then worked at Studio M in Sonoma, Ca for Madeline Black and completed her Master Level ITT Courses. Years later after moving to Austin, she was flying back to California to finish the Passing the Torch mentor program with Madeline, sponsored by Balanced Body University.
Stephen has studied Pilates over the years with many of the industry leaders when it comes to Pilates based rehab. Stephen & Cheryl are both Certified GYROTONIC(R) Instructors and Cheryl is currently in the GYOTONIC(R) Master Trainer Program. Thanks for checking out our program.
