An Exercise Science (B.Sc.) graduate from Indiana University and Indiana native, Emily Mokwunye has over 10 years of professional experience as a practitioner and instructor of Pilates and Personal Training. Emily is a graduate of the BASI Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Course.

Before committing to the art and discipline of Pilates, Emily was a competitive dancer, swimmer and runner, having completed marathons in Chicago, Boston, and New York in just over 3 hours each. Thus, you will find training with Emily a challenging experience with a personal touch that keeps you smiling and in top form because she synthesizes the best-practices from her previous careers with those of modern and classical Pilates movement.

Emily recently moved to Florence, AL from Indianapolis, IN where she managed the Exercise Therapy and Pilates programs at Apex Therapy Clinic grooming Indiana’s best in the art and discipline of “personal care” Pilates. There, her primary focuses were the conditioning and rehabilitation of stay-at-home spouses, no-time-for-myself professionals, and celebrity athletes.

During her years of practice, Emily has studied with such recognizable industry leaders as Julian Littleford, Director of Pilates for the San Diego Padres, Leslie Bender, creator of the Bender Ball, and Karen Clippenger, international presenter and author. Emily has also been featured in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine, on Fox News, and on the TV magazine Across Indiana. In her spare time, Emily organizes and attends Pilates, Lindy Hop swing dance and leadership workshops and conferences nationwide.

Pilates by RedHead: a fitness system that customizes movement solutions to meet the needs of the individual. Each RedHead movement uses the Stabilize-Initiate-Move (SIM) method, a set of movement standards developed by Chief RedHead, Emily Mokwunye.

Pilates by RedHead sessions are held in an intimate setting of 1 up to 4 participants per class. All workouts are extremely personalized and focused in order to address your goals, maximize your results and avoid injury.

- Wednesday 9:30 am mat class is open to the public. You must call to reserve your spot.

- All other sessions are by appointment only. Call to schedule your session.

- 50 minute sessions

- Private sessions or small groups up to 4 participants

- Exercise and rehabilitative programs

- Equipment and mat sessions

- Equipment includes Balanced Body Allegro Tower of Power, Balanced Body Pilates Arc, resistance bands and small props used for customization
